Painting Your Bedroom Walls

............................................................

Preparing the room before you decide to start with any of the painting in that room not only makes it a little easier for you to paint, but it is a great way to ensure that you will not have a mess later on from the spills and splatters that automatically come with painting. It may seem obvious, but you will need to go through the right order to make sure that the paint will look good when you are done.

You will want to start with the ceilings. This helps to get some of the higher spots taken care of as soon as possible. You can paint a strip that is about two inches wide right where the ceiling and the wall comes together. Then use a roller with an extension pole to help you start in a corner and work all the way across the short side. This helps to keep a wet edge ready as you move on to some of the other steps.

Now it is time to do the walls. You will want to keep going with that wide strip all along the ceiling. You can then follow with the same kind of idea on the woodwork and the floor. You may want to use a brush to make sure you can get it done without ruining the woodwork or getting too close to the floor. When the brush is done, you can use a roller to get as close to the edges as possible. This makes the wall look clean and uniform as you paint.

Then you can finish off with the woodwork and the floor. For the woodwork, take the time to paint all the trim that is around the doors, ceilings, floor and windows to get them taken care of as soon as possible. For the floor, you will want to start in the corner that is diagonally opposite the exit of the room. Paint a wide strip on the floor where it meets the trim or the wall. Then use a roller with a wide brush to start in that corner and then work across the short side to help keep that wet edge.

Choosing the right bedroom colours when you paint this room can take some time. You want to ensure that you are getting colors that are going to pop and stand out from the crowd. There are so many options, so you will need to choose what is going to look the best for the room you have and the theme you would like to go with. Visit a local paint store to help you choose the right paint for your room.
