How are White Wine and Red Wine Different?

............................................................

The two most popular types of wines that you can choose when you visit a wine store or order from a wine club are the white wines and the red wines. But what are some of the differences between these two types of wines that you should know? There are actually a few differences and some of these include:

# Aging: For most red wines, you will find that they tend to age much longer than the white wines. This is because the tannins that come in the skins of the grapes will be a type of preservative. Since the red wines will keep the skin on them, they have more tannins and can age more than the white wines.

# Flavors: The red wines that you choose will have a darker fruit flavor to them due to the skin of the grape that you drink. They may also have some darker tones of vanilla and chocolate mixed right in to the drink as well. On the other hand, the white wines will often be lighter and have a fruity taste with them, like florals, citrus, and apple.

# Body: When you want a rich flavoring to your wine, you will find that red wines are the best option to go with. For the lighter taste, you will need to go with a white wine. There are always exceptions to both of these to shop around for the right one.

# Alcohol content: The alcohol content of the wines will matter as well. Red wines often have more alcohol by percentage compared to the white wines.

# Temperature: White wines will frequently do the best when they are kept at a cooler temperature. This can help them to stay preserved for longer. A good storage temperature is between 40 to 55 degrees. Red wines need to be kept closer to the room temperature in your home. Store them between 55 and 70 degrees for the best results.

# Color: Red wines get their bright red color thanks to the dark skins that are left on the grapes during the fermenting process.

Whether you are a fan of red wine or white wine in your life, you will find that there are so many great varieties to go with. A BC wine club can make sense for you if you are still undecided on the type of wine that you would like to go with. Mix it up from one month to another or try out something that is completely new to you. A wine club makes it possible for you to try out a variety of wines to find the one that is right for you.
